UE3 is Epic's next-generation technology, intended for games shipping on next-generation consoles and PCs. Multiple UE3-powered games are currently in development at Epic and by our licensees, targeting a diverse set of genres from fighting games to MMPOGs to shooters. Recently, Epic announced that it will be using Unreal Engine 3 in upcoming titles Unreal Tournament 2007 and Gears of War. UE2X has been highly optimized for the Xbox, and makes full use of Xbox-only graphical and architectural features. This is the engine behind the jaw-dropping visuals of Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict.
Unreal Engine 2
This is the current generation technology seen in Unreal Tournament 2004. UE2.5 is targeted at today's hardware and consoles; it supports DirectX8 and OpenGL on PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox, and PS2.
